For the Custom Mosaic Stained Glass project pictured on the left,
my clients wanted a piece to fit on their patio door, which
was 65 by 18 inches, but they loved my Autumn Birches,
which is 26 by 22 inches. We needed to find the elements
they most loved and put them in a piece with very different
proportions. After going through their protests that they
could not draw, we each drew a rough sketch of the key elements
on some paper. Then we looked at each picture and talked
about what we liked. I made my final design based on this
conversation. When I delivered the piece, my clients were
moved to tears.
